Classes for Every Kid, Every Age, Every Goal

Whether your little one is taking their very first bow or your teen is chasing their black belt, there’s a place for them at Action Karate Main Line. Every program is purpose-built for its age group. Because a 3-year-old and a 13-year-old don’t just learn differently, they need entirely different things from a martial arts school.

Adult Martial Arts Classes

Real skills, real community, real results. Our adult program builds confidence, functional fitness, and self-defense in an environment that takes you seriously.

Kids Martial Arts Classes

More than kicks and blocks. Our kids’ classes are structured around character development: focus, discipline, respect, and the kind of confidence that shows up at the dinner table, not just on the mat.

Ninja Sharks Ages 3 to 6 Classes

Big energy, little legs, huge milestones. Ninja Sharks is our high-energy intro program for 3- to 6-year-olds, where following directions becomes a game and every class ends with a proud moment.

Special Needs Martial Arts Classes

Every student belongs here. Our instructors are trained to adapt curriculum, pacing, and communication so that children of all abilities can participate, progress, and thrive.

Birthday Parties

Ditch the bounce house. Our Main Line birthday parties are action-packed, unforgettable events that turn your child’s big day into a moment they’ll talk about for months.

Why Action Karate

What Makes Our Karate & Martial Arts Classes Special

Choosing a martial arts school isn’t just about the curriculum. It’s about the people, the environment, and the lasting impact on your child. Here’s why Main Line families keep choosing us.

The Largest Training Space in Action Karate

With over 2,000 sq ft of mat space (the largest in the Action Karate network) your child has room to move, practice, and grow without ever feeling crowded or rushed. Our newly renovated facility features cutting-edge mat technology that's built for both safety and performance.

Character Development, Not Just Curriculum

We measure success differently here. A student who raises their hand in class, holds the door open for a stranger, or pushes through a hard moment. Those are the wins that matter most to us. Every class is designed to build the inside just as much as the outside.

A School That Shows Up for the Community

Our students don't just train. They give back. Each year, Action Karate Main Line students lead over 30 community projects alongside partners like the Friendship Circle, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the JCC, and even the Philadelphia Phillies and Flyers. When a student here earns their belt, the whole neighborhood feels it.

Excellent place to learn karate. My daughter loves to go to the class. The good thing about Action Karate is you can go multiple days in a week. They not only teach you karate, but also help you to grow self-confidence!!

My son started at Action Main after his first karate school closed. He immediately felt a part of the team here and has thrived. Deja, Raya and Mr. Freed have been amazing not only for his karate skills, but for his confidence and physical strength. He will test for his Junior Black Belt in June and is so motivated to keep going.
I highly recommend Action Karate Main Line!

We came from another karate studio and we were welcomed with open arm. The classes are properly staffed with just the right number of instructors. Alot of cardio and strength training with karate instruction. Our son loves it.

Our son was very nervous when he first started and didn’t want to join in or talk, which is typical for him as he can be quite shy in new environments. After just a few weeks, he’s now taking part in the whole class, growing in confidence, and even wants to compete in a tournament. He loves practising at home and we now get to see him smiling throughout the entire class.
The team are incredibly patient and always offer helpful advice on how we can support him outside of class. We’ve seen such positive progress already and are really grateful.
My daughter has been training with action karate for a little over a year now, and overall it has a really positive impact. They focus not only on technique but also on discipline, respect, and confidence. The instructors ( Mr Freed, Ms Raya, Mrs Deja, Mr Nick, Ms Heather) are positive and supportive & treated us like family the moment we arrived and they genuinely care about helping their students.

The classes are well structured and energetic, keeping the kids engaged while still challenging them to improve. She looks forward to every session and even loves to help with the ninja sharks. She’s proud of the new skills she’s learning.

Hi there! Olivia G. Here. I’m a 74 year old senior citizen. For a long time needed an outlet but wasn’t sure what I wanted to do exercise wise. I would go with my daughter and granddaughter to Action Karate Main Line. I would sit there and watch them practice and achieve many goals. One day after back and forth in my head, I decided to join and see for myself. It wasn’t easy at first but I managed to adjust to the many moves taught. I feel a difference with my own mobility. The exercise for senior citizens is implemented. With each class I feel more confident and I’m always challenging myself. I enjoy class twice a week and look forward to belt promotions, I’m a proud orange belt and the journey is rewarding and beneficial towards my health. I love it here, Action Karate Main Line, because it builds character and a better connection between family and friends. I hope to accomplish “Black Belt Excellence.”

Action Karate Mainline has been an incredibly positive influence on our 5-year-old son.
What he’s gaining here goes far beyond martial arts or self-defense. Miss Raya, Miss Deja, Mr. Matt, and Mr. Freed lead by example, teaching our son the value of effort, commitment, and truly earning his achievements. This is not a place that hands out participation trophies — it’s a place where grit and perseverance are taught through thoughtful leadership and genuine connection.

I’ve personally witnessed the instructors meet children exactly where they are — whether a child is hesitant, overwhelmed, or simply having a hard day. I’ll never forget watching Miss Raya sit on the floor next to a child who was crying and refusing to join class, calmly saying, “I’m right here with you.” On another day, I heard her tell a child clinging to his father, “I can’t do this without you. Come on — I really can’t do this class without you.” Her patience and empathy are unmatched.

Every child here is treated with kindness, respect, and heartfelt encouragement. The instructors truly care.

Despite long days at camp, my son begs to go to karate every day. I thought he’d be too exhausted, but instead, he asks me to bring his uniform when I pick him up so we can head straight to class — sometimes 3 to 4 times a week.

We feel incredibly grateful to have found this community. Action Karate Mainline is helping to shape not just strong martial artists, but strong, resilient kids.

Meet the Team

Choosing a martial arts school is about more than the curriculum. Here’s why Bethlehem families train with us.

Our Story

Eight Years of Building Better Kids in Main Line

Action Karate Main Line opened its doors in 2017 with a simple conviction: that the right martial arts program could change a child’s trajectory. Not by making them tougher but by making them more focused, more resilient, and more ready for whatever life puts in front of them. Eight years and hundreds of students later, that conviction hasn’t changed. One of our students was recently accepted to Harvard University, serving as a reminder that what happens on this mat echoes far beyond it.

Students don’t just feel confident on the mat. They walk into school with their head up, speak to adults with eye contact, and stop second-guessing themselves. Parents notice it within weeks.

Homework before screens. Listening the first time. Finishing what they start. The focus habits built in class spill into every corner of your child’s life and yours.

From Friendship Circle to the JCC to the Philadelphia Phillies, our students train alongside kids who are learning to lead, serve, and show up. And they make friendships that outlast any sports season.
Our structured curriculum gives every student a clear road map, so they always know what they’re working toward and exactly what it takes to get there. Progress is visible, celebrated, and earned.

Martial arts helped shape my confidence, discipline, and mindset growing up, and I wanted to be able to pass that on and make that same impact on my students.
