Donald Clark

About me

Master Donald Clark brings 25 years of martial arts experience and 22 years with Action Karate to every class he teaches. A 6th Degree Black Belt, he came to the mat because he saw firsthand how martial arts had the power to reshape lives and he never looked back. Whether he’s working with a three-year-old stepping onto the mat for the very first time or a student working toward their next black belt rank, Master Clark brings the same quiet conviction to every session: that struggle is part of the process, and that no one who keeps showing up ever truly fails.

Teaching philosophy

Master Clark’s approach to teaching is rooted in one belief that has guided his entire career: the students who struggle the most are often the ones capable of the greatest growth. He doesn’t measure success by how quickly a child picks up a technique. He measures it by the moment a shy student stands a little taller, or a hesitant child raises their hand in front of a room full of peers. Over more than two decades on the mat, he has seen that transformation happen again and again, and it never gets old. For Master Clark, the parent who pulls him aside and says, “You have no idea how you’ve changed my child’s life,” is the real reward. That’s what drives him to show up every day, not to produce competitors or perfect forms, but to give children and families something that lasts far beyond the dojo. His motto says it plainly: it’s okay to struggle, it’s not okay to quit. That’s not just something he teaches, it’s something he lives. And his students feel the difference.
