Programs

Programs for Everyone, Regardless of Skill or Experience

From tiny Ninja Sharks to focused teens and hard-working adults, every program at Action Karate Voorhees is designed around one idea: meet your child where they are, and take them somewhere better.

Adult Martial Arts Classes

You don’t need a background in martial arts to get started. You just need to show up. Our adult classes build real fitness, practical self-defense awareness, and the kind of mental toughness that carries into every part of your week. Whether you’re 25 or 55, you belong on this mat.

Kids Martial Arts Classes

Kicks, blocks, and board-breaking are just the beginning. Our kids’ programs are built around the habits parents care about most: listening the first time, staying focused in school, handling conflict with confidence instead of fear. Every class is taught by background-checked, safety-certified instructors who genuinely love working with kids.

Ninja Sharks Ages 3 to 6 Classes

Most schools won’t even take a child this young. We start at age three. Intentionally. Our Ninja Sharks classes are high-energy, age-appropriate, and built for the wiggly, loud, wonderfully chaotic three-to-six-year-old in your life. They’ll learn to listen, follow directions, and move their bodies with purpose, all while having a blast.

Special Needs Martial Arts Classes

Every child deserves a place on the mat. Our instructors are trained to meet students where they are: adjusting pace, breaking skills into manageable steps, and creating an environment where difference is never a disadvantage. If your child learns differently, we want to talk.

Birthday Parties

Skip the pizza party chaos. Bring your crew to Action Karate Voorhees for a birthday they’ll talk about for months: martial arts demos, games, energy, and a custom experience for your child and their friends.

Why Action Karate

South Jersey Families Keep Coming Back and Bringing Their Neighbors

We opened in 2023 and haven’t needed a billboard since. The families who train here become our biggest advocates because they see the difference in their kids every week. More focus. More confidence. More of those small, everyday wins that remind you why you signed up in the first place. If you’re looking for an after-school activity that actually changes things at home, you’ve found your place.

We start earlier than everyone else

While most martial arts schools won't enroll children under age five, we welcome students starting at age three. That's two extra years of confidence-building, focus-training, and character development before kindergarten even begins. Early habits are the ones that stick.

Our facility was built for this

Action Karate Voorhees opened in 2023 in a purpose-built, brand-new space with all new equipment and mats. This isn't a storefront retrofit. It's one of the largest training facilities in the entire franchise, designed from day one to be a place your child loves walking into.

We show up for this community

From school supply drives and food drives across Voorhees and Cherry Hill, to free events at the Cherry Hill library and self-defense workshops for local women, this isn't a business that just rents space in your neighborhood. We're part of it.

Our Space

A Space Your Child Will Actually Want to Walk Into

Built new in 2023, our Voorhees facility is purpose-designed for martial arts with wide-open mat space, brand-new equipment, and room for every student to move, train, and grow without feeling crowded.

My son wants to go every day; he has gotten so much more focused and disciplined in such a short period of time. Master Lisa always gets one-on-one time with him, even when the class is packed. This is definitely one of the finest Dojos in South Jersey. Great work, team.

My family and I had a great experience at Action Karate! The staff is really friendly, and they create a sense of belonging for all students. Our kids were welcomed and they immediately felt like part of the group. We were not able to enroll in the program full time, but our experience for the classes we attended was top notch.

Our kids have been going to Action Karate for about three months now, and I can’t say enough good things about it. Mr. Weller and Ms. Lisa do an outstanding job not only teaching karate, but also reinforcing discipline, responsibility, and respect in every class.

The structure of the program is excellent, and the classes are organized, engaging, and age-appropriate. The instructors strike a great balance between being encouraging and holding the kids accountable, which has made a noticeable impact at home as well.

We’re extremely happy with the progress our kids have made in a short amount of time and would highly recommend Action Karate to any family looking for a well-run program that builds confidence and character.

Highly recommend Action Karate Marlton!

Both of my kids attend Action Karate Marlton, and they absolutely love it. The instructors Mr. Weller and Ms. Lisa are patient, encouraging, and truly care about each child’s growth—not just in karate, but in confidence, discipline, and respect.

What I really appreciate is how well they engage kids of different ages and energy levels. The classes are structured, fun, and motivating, and my kids actually look forward to going every week. As a parent, it’s great to see them enjoying physical activity while also learning valuable life skills.

The staff is friendly, professional, and always willing to communicate and support the kids and parents. Overall, it’s been a very positive experience for our family, and I’m glad we chose Action Karate Marlton.

Action Karate with Ms. Lisa and Mr. Weller is the best! My son loves going to karate and frequently talks about all the lessons he has learned (stranger danger, importance of healthy eating, listening skills, etc). They have classes at different times during the week makes it so easy to schedule with our busy life. The facility is so clean and welcoming as well! We highly recommend Action Karate to all of our friends!

Meet the Team

Choosing a martial arts school is about more than the curriculum. Here’s why Bethlehem families train with us.

Our Story

A School Our Students Love

Action Karate Voorhees opened its doors in 2023 with a clear mission: build a martial arts school that Cherry Hill and Voorhees families didn’t just use, but genuinely loved. Less than two years in, we’ve enrolled 40+ new students, sent competitors to tournaments where they’ve earned trophies and medals, run community school drives for local families in need, and are now preparing our very first group of black belt candidates for their test. That’s not a slow build. That’s a community showing up.

With 2,500 sq ft of training mat space and brand-new equipment throughout, students have room to work hard, move freely, and build skills at their own pace without the cramped-classroom feeling of older gyms.
We believe the window for building confidence, focus, and discipline is earlier than most people think. Our Ninja Sharks program gives young children a structured, joyful head start that pays dividends for years.
Our team doesn’t clock out after class. They’re in the community at local schools, at library events, and at festivals because they care about these kids beyond the mat.
The majority of students who joined since our September 2023 opening have gone on to compete in tournaments, earning trophies and medals along the way. We don’t just enroll kids. We develop athletes and leaders.

Martial arts helped shape my confidence, discipline, and mindset growing up, and I wanted to be able to pass that on and make that same impact on my students.

FAQ

FAQs Got Questions? We've Got Answers. Here are the things Voorhees families ask us most.

At Action Karate Voorhees, we teach Tang Soo Do — in one of the largest and newest facilities in the entire Action Karate network. Built from the ground up in September, the school has 3,000 square feet of total space with 2,500 square feet of dedicated mat, brand-new equipment, and a programme that starts at age 3 — earlier than most martial arts schools begin. Forty new students enrolled in the first phase alone, and the school's first round of black belt candidates is testing this June.

We run classes across the week for families in Voorhees, Cherry Hill, and the surrounding area. Coming up: a free community event at Cherry Hill Library (May 30) and pre-K school programmes across Cherry Hill through spring. Use the form on this page to get the full current schedule.

Just come comfortable. For your first session at Action Karate Voorhees, loose clothing you can move in is all you need. Your uniform (gi) is included in the $49 intro offer. Bare feet on the mat, no shoes required.

Voorhees runs programmes starting at age 3 — which is earlier than most schools begin — through to adults. We serve families from Clara Barton and Brett Hart Elementary, The Learning Experience, and Goddard schools. Community partnerships include local elementary schools, Girl Scouts (earning self-defence patches), Cherry Hill Library, and the Cherry Hill SACC programme. The school has run school supply drives and food drives for families across Voorhees and Cherry Hill, and the first black belt class is in progress now.
