Teaching philosophy

Sara believes no two students learn the same way and her teaching reflects that. Some kids thrive in a group and feed off the energy around them. Others need a quieter moment, a different angle, or simply more time with the same skill before it clicks. Her approach is flexible by design: she adjusts her pacing, her communication style, and her expectations based on what each student needs that day. This isn’t just good instruction. It’s what genuine care looks like in practice. One of Sara’s most meaningful experiences as a teacher came when a student with special needs, nonverbal when they started, reached a major breakthrough in power, form memorization, and overall skill after three years of consistent, patient work together. That kind of progress doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because an instructor shows up, pays attention, and refuses to give up. For Sara, that’s not the exception. It’s the standard she holds herself to every single class.
