Master Magill's teaching method is deliberately iterative. He pays attention to how each student responds and adapts his approach until something clicks. A student who learns best through visual demonstration gets that. A student who needs a story or an analogy gets that instead. Nobody falls through the cracks.

At Action Karate Mt. Laurel, we teach Tang Soo Do — a Korean martial art that builds coordination, discipline, and genuine self-defence skills alongside the confidence and character that make a real difference for children. The school has been part of the Mt. Laurel community since 1994 — one of the longest-running Action Karate locations in existence. It's led by Master Colan Magill, a 5th Degree Black Belt with 11 years at Action Karate, whose approach to teaching is deeply adaptive. Master Magill was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and grew up navigating Nonverbal Learning Disorder — which gives him a firsthand understanding of how different students process and learn. Every student here gets instruction that genuinely adjusts to how they think.

Just come as you are. For your first session at Action Karate Mt. Laurel, comfortable clothing you can move in is all you need. Your uniform (gi) is included in the $49 intro offer. Bare feet on the mat, no shoes required.
Mt. Laurel runs programmes from age 3 through to adults, serving families from across the Mt. Laurel School District (which has six primary and elementary schools alone), Lenape High School, Hainsport School District, Rancocas Valley High School, and Lumberton School District. Partners include Rancocas Woods Local Community Center, Mt. Laurel Schools, Camp Laurel Summer Camp, and Wee Kids Early Learning Center. If your child has additional learning needs, Master Magill's background makes this a particularly strong fit.
