About me
Sensei Ashlee McCreery brings 13 years of martial arts experience and a genuinely warm presence to the mat at Action Karate Jamison. Before stepping into the dojo, she spent years as a nanny, and it was watching a student she cared for grow through the Action Karate program that sparked her calling. A 3rd Degree Black Belt and 10-year veteran of the Action Karate family, Ashlee also has a background in competitive soccer and photography, and she channels that same eye for detail and patience into every class she teaches.
Teaching philosophy
Sensei Ashlee believes that the most powerful thing an instructor can offer a child isn’t a perfect technique. It’s patience. She meets every student exactly where they are, reading what they need and adjusting her approach accordingly. With the youngest students, that often means getting down on the mat and playing alongside them, finding the fun in every drill so that learning karate feels like the best part of their week.
For students who face extra challenges, it means staying steady, celebrating small wins, and never giving up on them, even when the path to progress is longer than expected. Ashlee entered this role because she saw, up close, how much the values taught at Action Karate can shape a child’s character. Ten years later, that belief only grows stronger. Her life motto says it all: “Be the reason someone smiles today.” Every class is a chance to do exactly that.
