Programs

Real Skills. Real Kids. Real Results.

Action Karate Drexel Hill offers age-specific programs built around what children actually need at each stage of development. Kids don’t just get physically stronger here. They get better at listening, braver about trying new things, and more confident in their own skin.

Adult Martial Arts Classes

You don’t need to be a teenager to start. Adult students at Action Karate Drexel Hill train for fitness, mental clarity, and practical self-defense skills they’ll actually use. The classes are challenging, supportive, and designed for real life.

Kids Martial Arts Classes

For school-age kids ready to channel their energy into something that builds them up. Our structured kids’ programs teach focus, self-control, and respect alongside kicks, strikes, and forms. Parents notice the difference at the dinner table within weeks.

Ninja Sharks Ages 3 to 6 Classes

Little ones are full of energy and ready to learn. Ninja Sharks introduces our youngest students to the mat in a playful, nurturing environment where big feelings get big outlets and every child gets the attention they need.

Special Needs Martial Arts Classes

Every child deserves a place on the mat. Our instructors are trained to adapt their teaching to different learning styles and abilities. Kids who have struggled to find their fit in other activities often discover that martial arts gives them exactly the structure and encouragement they’ve been looking for.

Birthday Parties

Celebrate your child’s big day at Action Karate Drexel Hill. High-energy, kid-approved, and way more fun than a bouncy castle.

Why Action Karate

More Than a Martial Arts Class. A Different Kind of Kid.

Parents in Drexel Hill choose us because their children come home changed. Not just tired from a workout, but more settled, more respectful, and prouder of themselves.

Character is built on the mat, not just at home

Every class reinforces the same values parents are already teaching: respect, persistence, and personal responsibility. Kids hear it from their instructors too, and that repetition sticks.

Progress your child can actually see

The belt system gives kids a clear, achievable goal at every stage. Earning a new belt isn't handed to them. They work for it, and they know it. That pride is real.

Instructors who treat every student as an individual

No child gets lost in the crowd here. Our team adapts to different learning styles, energy levels, and needs because the goal is always the same: help this specific child grow.

Our Space

A Training Environment Built for Confidence

3,500 square feet of dedicated space gives our students room to move, practice, and grow without feeling crowded or rushed. The mat is clean, the energy is focused, and the layout lets instructors keep a close eye on every student in the room.

I can’t recommend Action Karate enough! It is a welcoming space. Our 5 year old is learning with teachers who know his and all other kids’ names. They encourage while directing students. You see the relationship the studio has developed with participants when there are so many older kids helping to run sessions. The studio also participates in community events and outreach. Fantastic!

My little guy looks forward to his karate classes. We took a winter break from his swim school & joined this amazing community. watching him build confidence in his ability is truly priceless. Mr Williams, Ms Andrea, and Trooper are 3 of the many amazing instructors teaching our little ninjas togetherness, patience, leadership qualities, team exercises, they are given many directions that they are eager to participate. Each ninja does their best to achieve. Truly a positive atmosphere!!! I love the confidence each child has at the end of each class ☺️😍

Where do I even begin?? Let's start at the beginning! My son has been coming to this karate academy for about 4 years. We love it here. From the classes, to the private talks and chats to the GREAT extra events they host for the children and families together. I enjoy the teachings they have helped dad and I instill into our son! If your values and views aline with AKs mission, this is the place for your family as well!
Here we are 4 years in, a lot of sweat and grit later, we are still going strong and don't plan on stopping any time soon. AK is apart of our family and definitely treat us as such! Even Dad and I have joined the mat a few times and learned valuable defenses.

Meet the Team

Choosing a martial arts school is about more than the curriculum. Here’s why Bethlehem families train with us.

Our Story

Active in the Drexel Hill Community Since 2018

Action Karate Drexel Hill has been part of this neighborhood for years, and the families who started with us when we first opened are still here. That kind of loyalty tells you something.

The kind that shows up in classrooms, on sports fields, and in everyday conversations. Parents tell us their child raises their hand more, complains less, and handles frustration better.
It’s common to see siblings on the mat at the same time, or parents who started watching from the lobby and ended up joining an adult class themselves.
Students don’t just collect stripes. They demonstrate readiness, and that process of working toward a goal, falling short, and pushing through builds a kind of mental toughness that lasts.
Our instructors pay attention. Kids with different learning needs, different temperaments, and different starting points all find a place here because teaching is never one-size-fits-all.

Martial arts helped shape my confidence, discipline, and mindset growing up, and I wanted to be able to pass that on and make that same impact on my students.
