Classes Built for Real Kids at Every Stage

Every child who walks through our doors is at a different starting point. And that’s exactly how we plan for it. At Action Karate Plymouth, our programs are designed around your child’s age, attention span, and goals, so they’re always challenged in the right way and never lost in the crowd.

Adult Martial Arts Classes

Adults train here for all kinds of reasons: stress relief, fitness, self-defense, or something they’ve wanted to try for years. Whatever brings you in, you’ll build real physical strength, sharper focus, and a level of confidence you’ll carry far beyond the mat.

Kids Martial Arts Classes

This is where focus, respect, and self-discipline get built for real. Kids don’t just learn techniques. They learn how to set goals, handle frustration, and keep going when things get hard. Those habits follow them into the classroom, the dinner table, and everything in between.

Ninja Sharks Ages 3 to 6 Classes

Little ones are big movers, and this class meets them there. Ninja Sharks is built for the 3-to-6 crowd: high-energy, imagination-forward, and packed with the kind of structured fun that actually teaches listening, coordination, and early confidence without anyone knowing they’re “in class.”

Special Needs Martial Arts Classes

Action Karate Plymouth welcomes every student. Our instructors adapt to different learning styles, sensory needs, and physical abilities so that every child gets a fair shot at the mat and the growth that comes with it. Kids who have been turned away elsewhere have earned their belts here.

Birthday Parties

Skip the usual party routine. Bring your kid’s birthday to the mat for an action-packed celebration their friends will talk about. We handle the fun so you can actually enjoy the party too.

Why Action Karate

This Isn't Just After-School. It's Where Character Gets Built

Plymouth families have plenty of options for what to do with their kids on weekday afternoons. Soccer, swimming, dance. They all have their place. But Action Karate Plymouth offers something those activities rarely do: a structured environment where your child is specifically taught how to behave, how to respond to challenges, and how to respect the people around them.

Something most kids are missing - genuine self-discipline

And not the kind that comes from a lecture. Kids here learn to control their bodies, manage their impulses, and follow through on commitments because the curriculum is built to train exactly that, class after class.

The skill of handling hard things without quitting

Every belt test is a little scary. Every new form feels impossible at first. But students at Action Karate Plymouth learn to push through. And that lesson doesn't stay on the mat. It shows up in homework, in social situations, and in how they talk about themselves.

A place where every kid belongs

Kids come here shy, distracted, rowdy, unsure. And they all find their footing. Because our instructors pay attention to the individual, not just the group. Nobody gets left behind or pushed ahead before they're ready.

Meet the Team

Choosing a martial arts school is about more than the curriculum. Here’s why Plymouth families train with us.
Our Story

A Plymouth Institution, Going Since 2000

Action Karate Plymouth has been part of this neighborhood for over 25 years. That’s a lot of shy kids who found their voices, distracted students who learned to lock in, and families who became part of something bigger than a class schedule. We didn’t get here by being the loudest option on Ridge Avenue. We got here by doing right by families, year after year.

25+ years in Plymouth is not an accident. Families keep coming back, and sending their neighbors, because this school has earned that trust repeatedly, not just occasionally.
Action Karate Plymouth is one of the few schools in the area offering KyuSho Jitsu training, the study of pressure point martial arts. For students who want to understand the full depth of what they’re learning, this is a rare opportunity.
Life with kids doesn’t run on a perfect schedule. Our class structure is built to accommodate real families with real complications, because consistency over time is what creates actual results.
Ask any Action Karate parent what surprised them most. Nine times out of 10, the answer is that their kid begs to go. That’s not marketing. That’s what happens when kids are taught well and feel genuinely welcomed.

Martial arts helped shape my confidence, discipline, and mindset growing up, and I wanted to be able to pass that on and make that same impact on my students.

FAQ

FAQs Got Questions? We've Got Answers. Here are the things Plymouth Meeting families ask us most.

At Action Karate Plymouth, we teach Tang Soo Do — plus something you won't find at most martial arts schools: KyuSho Jitsu, the pressure point martial art. Available to students who advance to the right level, KyuSho Jitsu adds a layer of technical depth that makes Plymouth a distinctive long-term training environment. The school has been part of the Plymouth Meeting community since 2000, and that quarter-century of experience shows in the depth of local school and community connections built here.
We run classes throughout the week for families across Plymouth Meeting, Conshohocken, and Whitemarsh. Use the form on this page to get our current schedule sent to your inbox.
Nothing special on your first visit to Action Karate Plymouth. Comfortable clothing you can move in is all you need. Your uniform (gi) is included in the $49 intro offer. Bare feet on the mat, no shoes required.
Plymouth runs programmes from age 3 through to adults, serving families from Conshohocken Elementary, Ridge Park Elementary, Whitemarsh Elementary, Plymouth Elementary, Colonial Middle School, Colonial Elementary, and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. For students who stay the course, the curriculum eventually opens up to KyuSho Jitsu training — a genuine differentiator and one of the things that keeps long-term students genuinely engaged here.
